Breaking New Ground: Grilling our Well Grounded Hot Dogs for the FIRST Time

Friday nights are Family Movie Night at our house. We started this tradition a few years ago and it's something we all look forward to doing together at the week's end. This week is especially noteworthy. Not for the movie, for the menu.
It's amazing how fun it is to break out of the daily routine and shake things up a bit. So we follow special protocol on Friday nights.
We eat in the Living Room every Movie Night.
On our plastic cafeteria-style trays from Target I purchased over a decade ago.
The menu has rules, too. No casseroles or roasts tonight. Finger food required. It has to be fun.
One more thing - you have to show up in your pajamas.
No jammies, no admission.
This week brought a delicious surprise for movie night. My husband has been working closely with our local meat processor, the Wahoo Locker, to innovate our Well Grounded Farms all-beef, nitrate free hot dogs made from our trustworthy Grassfed beef. You know, a hot dog you actually want to eat... and can feel good about serving your kids (without all the gunk in it). This week all the effort came to fruition - and we have a finished product! Breakthrough!
Andrew brought home samples for us to taste Thursday - the kids immediately said "this is the best hot dog EVER!" Kid approved - case closed, right?!? Our son Asher said, "Let's have these for Movie Night!!!" Brilliant idea!
So we did.
Andrew fired up the grill and gave these hot dogs a nice crispy shell, bringing bold flavor to life in every bite. The five of us marveled. It was one of the most satisfying meals we've ever shared together. Hannah said she wanted to eat them all! Together, we paused and celebrated a job well done. And the new beginnings this will bring.
Does your family have a weekly/monthly tradition of spending time together in a particular way? If not, today is a great day to start planning one. These hot dogs would make the perfect menu for your time investing in each other!
Here's how you get started.
1.) Choose an activity you can do together, appropriate for the ages of your children so its fun for everyone (Movie Night, Game Night, a hike together, putt-putt golf, bubbles and sprinkler fun in the backyard, etc.)
2.) Set the date and tell the family. Set their expectations to anticipate this FUN FAMILY TIME!
3.) Make it happen! Keep it simple and stress-free so your time is invested in each other, not trying to pull the night off. That's why our hot dogs make an easy and effortless menu choice for times like this :)
To Living Well Grounded,
